Hello,

I would like to know what are the functions or the roles of Control Block in Z/OS?

Control blocks are important... that is how the system manages most everything. At address 0 is the PSA which has pointers to other control blocks. At address 10x is a pointer to CVT (also pointers to more control blocks).

The system control blocks are described in the 'Data Areas' manuals. See:
    http://www-03.ibm.com/systems/z/os/zos/bkserv/r10pdf/#mvs

They are also included in dataset 'sys1.maclib'
