    Hi 'TESTER',

It is not connected to a CAS or a CMAS.

For a 'CICSPlex SM' Connection type, it connects to a CICSPlex SM Web User Interface (WUI) server. The Server address and port number on the connection panel, should match the CICSPlex SM Web User Interface System Parameters TCPIPHOSTNAME and TCPIPPORT.

The Web User Interface Server will communicate with the CMAS. CASes are not used / need - in fact with CICS TS 3.2 they don't even exist.

    Cheers. Grant.

Can the explorer connect directly to a CICS 3.2 region? If not, how do you setup a WUI server?

    Hi TESTER,

No you can't connect straight to a CICS 3.2 region. You must connect to a WUI server.
A WUI Server is part of the CICSPlex SM setup, and details on how to set that up as part of CICSPlex SM can be found in this learning path

    Cheers ... Grant.
