Pinned topic License key extention for RAD RC0 June Open Beta (from 9/12 to 10/13)

‏2008-08-31T02:43:54Z |
The June Beta (RC0) is scheduled to expire on September 12, 2008.
Here is a license key that will extend your use of RC0 to October 13, 2008. Below are the instructions on how to import it.

================================================
Importing a product activation kit
To install your extension license key, you must import the activation kit by using IBM Installation Manager.
The activation kit is a Java archive (.jar) file. The .jar file contains the extension license key and can be imported to extend the trial period of your beta product.
To import an activation kit .jar file and enable the new license key:
1. Start IBM Installation Manager.
2. On the main page, click Manage Licenses.
3. Select a package and click the Import Activation Kit button.
4. Click Next. Details for the selected package are shown, including the current license kind and the product version range of the license.
5. Browse to the path on the media CD or download location for the activation kit; then select the appropriate Java archive (JAR) file and click Open.
6. Click Next. The Summary page displays the target install directory for the activation kit, the product the new license applies to, and version information.
7. Click Finish.
The product activation kit with its extension license key is imported to the product. The Manage Licenses wizard indicates whether the import is successful.

Yep, it works & thanks for posting it here. Is there a way to post it in the RAD 7.5 downloadhttps://www14.software.ibm.com/webapp/iwm/web/reg/download.do?source=swerpratl-rad75ob3&S_PKG=dl&S_TACT=105AGX29&S_CMP=h2b&lang=en_US&cp=UTF-8 as a link too, so folks who are downloading do not have to search.

    Thanks
    Ravi

    Hi Chris,
There will NOT be another RAD v7.5 beta license that will work past 10/13.

The RAD v7.5 product is generally available for purchase now, so the beta has ended.

You can obtain a 60 trial of RAD v7.5 from the dW site at this URL:
    http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/downloads/r/rad/?S_TACT=105AGX28&S_CMP=DLMAIN

    Hope that helps!
    Thanks, Paula

The RAD beta is over and the Beta license expired on 10/13 as you have noted. You will be able to use the RAD Beta after that date.

If you wish to continue to use RAD v7.5, you will need to download the 60 trial of RAD v7.5.
It's available on the dW site at this URL:
    http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/downloads/r/rad/?S_TACT=105AGX28&S_CMP=DLMAIN

Ensure you fully remove the beta before installed the trial version.

If you are having other concerns with trial, that URL has a way for you to get some support for the trial.

I hope that answers your question. If not, please clarify your concern.
    Thanks,Paula

    Hi Suresh,

I don't claim to be an expert in this area but....

The Trial version is free and only works for 60 days.
The General Available (GA)version is purchased and can be used for a very long time (forever?).

If you are "entitled" to the GA version of RAD v7.5 product because you bought RAD v7.0, then you should be able to download RAD v7.5 from Passport Advantage and it will have the appropriate license file in that download.

You should not need the physical RAD 7.0 license file to get RAD v7.5 licensing to work. But you will need to have purchased RAD v7.5, or another product that "entitles" you to RAD v7.5.

    Does that help clarify?

    Thanks, Paula
