Pinned topic Not able to see all feature in jmc.

‏2008-07-21T05:36:19Z |
Hello,
I am new to Websphere XD Compute Grid.
I have two question :

1) Why I am not able to see all the features of Compute grid ?
(Note : I have install Compute grid trial version 6.0.1 and applied pack 6.0.2
see the attach file.)

2) I am not able to view <localhost>:<9080>/jmc.......... if I install XD on WAS 6.1.0.13 on windows server 2003 SP1.

Thanks in advance.

    I think maybe I can answer your first question.
    You didn't get the full feature because you are accessing the JMC without login and as an anonymous user.
    The "Welcome null" on the top of the page can prove this.

    I think you must want to ask me how to login now. And would say to me: there is no login prompt at all!

    Now, let me tell you how to drag the login screen out.
    1. Open your Deployment Manager admin console, jump to where you can set the job scheduler (System administration->Job scheduler).
    2. Under "Additional Properties", you can find an iterm called "Security role to user/group mapping".
    3. Click it and set the users or/and groups you want to map to the roles.
    4. Restart the server where the jmc on. (restart all servers if you are using clusters.)
    5. Access your jmc url again, the login screen will appear this time. Login by the user you mapped above.
    6. You will get the full features now.

    Thanks Programus for that quick response.

    In the following manner, I have tried to implement the approach that you have described me :

    1. Users And Group -> Manager Group
    Created a group:MyGroup
    2. Users And Group -> Manager User
    Created a user:gaurav and given MyGroup membership
    3. Users And Group -> Administrator Group Role
    Given all the possible rights to the MyGroup(group).
    4. Users And Group -> Administrator User Role
    Given all the possible rights to the gaurav(user).
    5. System administration->Job scheduler Under "Additional Properties -> Security role to user/group mapping".
    Done Lookup for User and added gaurav(user).
    Done Lookup for group and added MyGroup(group).
    Now I am able to view gaurav and MyGroup as mapped user/group for both the roles lrsubmitter and lradmin.
    Restarted the Application server. After restarting, if i access http://localhost:9080/jmc, it still goes to console.jsp.
    I tried accessing http://localhost:9080/jmc/login.jsp and I login using above created userid and password, it goes to console.jsp , but shows user as null and the options seen in JMC are still the same. I dont see all the options.

    How about access the jmc by using HTTPS protocol? Find your https port in server config page and try to access https://localhost:<https_port>/jmc . (Normally, http access will direct to https url automatically...)

    One more thing to ask, did you also checked the checkboxes in "All authenticated?" column?

    By the way, my {System administration->Job scheduler Under "Additional Properties -> Security role to user/group mapping"} page looks like this:
    <table>
    <tr style="background-color:#ddddff;">
    <td>Select</td><td>Role</td><td>Everyone?</td><td>All authenticated?</td><td>Mapped users</td><td>Mapped groups</td>
    </tr>
    <tr>
    <td>[ ]</td><td>lrsubmitter</td><td>[ ]</td><td>[v]</td><td>wsadm admin</td><td>admgroup</td>
    </tr>
    <tr>
    <td>[ ]</td><td>lradmin</td><td>[ ]</td><td>[v]</td><td>wsadm admin</td><td>admgroup</td>
    </tr>

    Reformat the post. Looks like some html tags are not allowed.

     Select |Role          |Everyone?|All authenticated?|Mapped users|Mapped groups

    [ ] |lrsubmitter |[ ] | [v] |wsadm admin |admgroup
    [ ] |lradmin |[ ] | [v] |wsadm admin |admgroup
    wsadm and admin are two administrator account and admgroup is the admin group include both. I think maybe only map to group is enough, but still did not try.
    If above is not easy to view, please copy and paste it into your own text editor and use monospace font. [ ] means a checkbox.

    Gaurav,
    Could you attach the screen shot of your job scheduler's Security role to user/group mapping panel?
    I may have seen this before under a certain configuration and can verify that from the screenshot.

    thanks,
    Sajan.
