I have installed on my laptop Ubuntu 8.04 x86-64 bit.
I have installed also iSeries Access iSeriesAccess-5.4.0-1.4.x86_64.rpm (with the use of allien) with success.
Unfortunatelly I do not have 5250 terminal Emultion Support.
I need this in order to log on in a shared HMC console.
I've tried with TN5250j with no success.

I installed the same version of iSeries access, iSeriesAccess-5.4.0-1.4.x86_64.rpm but I can't get an emulator started. I've tried "ibm5250" and I get the message "bash: ibm5250: command not found".
Does anybody have any ideas what I/we should try next?

What would cause that to not be in there? The installer said that the package installed correctly.
Re: 5250 Emulation Support on x86-64bit2008-08-21T19:10:36ZThis is the accepted answer. This is the accepted answer.Unfortunately the ibm5250 is not shipped with the 64 bit RPM. I'd suggest you to request it via design change request form:
You need to request the 64 bit emulator for the System i Access for Linux package. This form will notify the right person within IBM that this functionality is required and that way will be considered in future releases.
Re: 5250 Emulation Support on x86-64bit2008-08-21T19:30:17ZThis is the accepted answer. This is the accepted answer. If you install the required 32 bit libraries you can also install the 32 bit RPM in the 64 bit machine and you will get the 32 bit emulator working in your 64 bit machine.
