Pinned topic What's pco.exe do? and is there a linux equiv?

‏2008-05-20T18:22:39Z |
Hi All,

There is a clickable 'link' to get pop-up images when using iSeries access for Windows.

If I try that link using a Mac tn5250 emulation package I get this message

Required PC program (PCO.EXE) is not active
No communications with PC can occur
Press ENTER to resume

Linux iSeries Access does nothing at all. Is there a why to enable this functionality? What's it called?

Comments appreciated

Sorry, no such thing for now on Linux. You can certainly request a design change to push forward for this feature.

    Thanks for the reply Moises.

Can you give me any information about the terminology used to describe this?

I'm new the AS/400 and want to make sure I'm describing things properly.

Pointers to documentation or further reading is great, or even something I can poke Google with...

    Hello again,

This function is called "PC Support Organizer". You can request System i Access for Linux ibm5250 to support "PC Support Organizer" to be able to execute PC programs from the AS/400.

I have filled out that request form. Thank you for the link.

While I'm sure you can't promise anything, do you have any comments on how that process works now that a request has been made? Even hypothetically?

    Howdy,

You are correct in that I can't promise anything. The request will get to the project manager and will be discussed with some dev's. You are supposed to get a notification saying that you will get a response within 90 days.
