Does someone knows if using the easy installation utilities CD for installing linux is supported
for the RS/6000 machine?

When you say "the easy installation utilities CD", are you referring to the Installation Toolkit for Linux on POWER at https://www14.software.ibm.com/webapp/set2/sas/f/lopdiags/installtools/home.html? If so, the list of supported systems is in the release notes at https://www14.software.ibm.com/webapp/set2/sas/f/lopdiags/installtools/install/ibmitkreleasenotes.pdf.
The Installation Toolkit supports systems starting with POWER5 and the JS2* family of blades. Assuming you are referring to POWER3 or earlier systems when you refer to RS/6000, the Installation Toolkit would not be supported on them.
Please let me know if either of my assumptions were wrong, or if you have additional questions.
