Pinned topic profiling a remote AIX WAS 6.1

‏2007-12-08T04:52:46Z |
I am configuring WAS 6.1 to enable profiling from a remote XP RAD7, here are my steps:

1. install the agent controller (v6.1.5) on AIX
2. start the RAServer
3. In the WAS Administrative Console select Servers -> Application Servers -> appserver -> Process Definition ..-> Java Virtual Machine, I add -XrunpiAgent:server=enabled into Generic JVM arguments
4. In Application servers > server1 > Process Definition > Environment Entries, I also add LD_LIBRARY_PATH = /opt/IBM/AgentController/lib:/usr/lib to make sure the is loaded when starts up WAS

But, I receive the following error and WAS fail to restart.

JVMJ9VM011W Unable to load piAgent: A file or directory in the path name does not exist.
Could not create the Java virtual machine.

Any idea? thanks

Re: profiling a remote AIX WAS 6.1

This is for local profiling, not a solution to remote. I was having this same problem but after creating a Path variable in WAS under Java Process Definition which on Vista for me is C:\Program Files (x86)\IBM\SDP70Shared\plugins\org.eclipse.hyades.execution.win32.x86_4.2.3.v200701141614, it worked.

This is RSA Websphere 6.1 in Vista64

The other argument didn't seem to make a difference and adding the dir to my system environment's path didn't work either.

I was having the same problem. I've been looking all over for posts on this! I followed greenrob's instructions, and that got me up and profiling. Thanks man!
