Pinned topic Indexing Capabilities

‏2007-11-28T16:59:14Z |
Does anyone know of any upcoming improvements to Capture that will allow better indexing flexibility? It seems as if Capture is in the dark ages when it comes to the indexing module. I am unable to do simple database lookups on fields, or do any conditional processing (such as filling index fields based on a database lookup of a barcode).

Do you use the existing index module (leaving the indexer without any validation), or do you use a different indexing method? I'd be curious to hear what other people are doing (custom component, custom indexing application, or just sticking with the existing index module)?

Thanks for your response!

For all the reasons mentioned I always make a custom application.
