    Hi guys,

    I'm having the same problem on WebSphere Portal 8.0. On my local environment, it works just fine, however, when I deploy my application on my development server, it crashes with the following exception:

    javax.naming.ServiceUnavailableException [Root exception is java.net.UnknownHostException: Unknown protocol: 'CORBALOC']
    at weblogic.jndi.internal.ExceptionTranslator.toNamingException(ExceptionTranslator.java:34)
    at weblogic.jndi.WLInitialContextFactoryDelegate.toNamingException(WLInitialContextFactoryDelegate.java:792)
    at weblogic.jndi.WLInitialContextFactoryDelegate.getInitialContext(WLInitialContextFactoryDelegate.java:366)
    at weblogic.jndi.Environment.getContext(Environment.java:315)
    at weblogic.jndi.Environment.getContext(Environment.java:285)
    at weblogic.jndi.WLInitialContextFactory.getInitialContext(WLInitialContextFactory.java:117)

    I made some remote debugging and figured it happens when I instantiate the initial context like this:

    final InitialContext ctx = new InitialContext();

    Any ideas?
