Hi - Im having trouble determining what version of DB2 that is running - I am pretty new at dealing with DB2 and am just trying to get my feet wet.
When connecting via the DB2 CLP (after creating the node and db info) the following is displayed:
Database Connection Information
Database server = DB2/AIX64 8.2.7
When executing 'select versionnumber from sysibm.sysversions' the following is displayed:
db2 => select versionnumber from sysibm.sysversions
2 record(s) selected.
When executing a db2level the following is displayed:
DB21085I Instance "<<DB>>" uses "64" bits and DB2 code release "SQL08027"
with level identifier "03080106".
Informational tokens are "DB2 v188.8.131.52", "s061108", "U810098", and FixPak
Product is installed at "/usr/opt/db2_08_01".
A third party tool tells me that it is:
This server is running version :8.2.7 with Fixpak 7 or 7a
In addition to all this I was told that it is: UDB 8.2 FP 14
Thus I was wondering if someone can clear this up for me, and telling me what number means what and what the version of DB2 is running.

Re: DB2 - How tell what version of DB2 is running?2007-11-08T06:55:59ZThis is the accepted answer. This is the accepted answer.Hi,
DB2 V8.1+FP7=V8.1.7=DB2 8.2
DB2 V8.1+FP14=v8.1.14=DB2 8.2.7
One can upgrade from DB2 V8.1->V8.2 if he/she applies FP7 on V8.1.
No need to install V8.2 image.( or Install new V8.2 images .
It depends on each case.)
In V9.1->9.5, this is not the case.
No upgrade path using FixPack.
He/She have to install new V9.5 images.( Policy changed)
Hope this helps.

Also are Fix Packs Accumulative?
Is it possible to have a version of 8.2 FP 14? What does that mean?
Also given the information - is the DB2 Database in question at 8.2.7 meaning 8.1 FP 14?
