Pinned topic j9 problem with bluetooth support on Palm treo 650

‏2007-10-09T07:37:40Z |
this is probably a novice question but any help is appreciated since I've
spent a week on this and stuck here..
with j2me, i can not get the LocalDevice on my treo650..

the bluetooth device is on works ok ....but with j2me application

localdev=LocalDevice.getLocalDevice()

always throws an exception ( bluetoothStateException). I have IBM java
2.2.014 and using netbeans 6 with MIDP 2.0

thanks

    I can't speak with certainty since this is a Palm port, but it looks as
    if they have disabled Bluetooth. Sometimes vendors do this to reduce
    testing / development cost. You might want to check with them to see if
    this is indeed the case, and also to see if they have a JSR-82 (Java
    APIs for Bluetooth) implementation as well.

    JSR-82 is not implemented on the Palm IBM JVM. Install
    http://frog-parrot.net/JSRTest.jad and see for yourself.
