Hope somebody can help.
I am getting tons of kernel log errors in dmesg on all of my linux guest partitions.
RTAS: event: 2800, Type: Platform Error, Severity: 2
RTAS: event: 2801, Type: Platform Error, Severity: 2
RTAS: event: 2802, Type: Platform Error, Severity: 2
RTAS: event: 2803, Type: Platform Error, Severity: 2
same thing on all partitions.
I am not familiar with the syntax of rta_dump nor would i know how to diagnose the event once i grt it to output, simply executing rtas_dump does nothing. I guess i should start here.. And I cannot find any documentation on using the command.
Thanks in Advance,

Did you tried googling the error? If not, here are a couple of related posts:
Are you aware that this is a problem completely in the host side and not in the client side? This forum is for System i Access for Linux, that is, answer questions to the client programs that connect to the System i/AS400, so may be there is another forum more suitable for your question.
Re: SLES 10 PPC on iSeries 520 getting RTAS errors2007-09-28T17:40:59Z in response to SystemAdminyes i googled extensivly,
i thought the linux rtas deamon was a client side hook to the i/as400, hence why i posted here. Anyways, neither links you provided have anything to do with rtas events, I appreciate your effort anyways.
The information I am looking for is how to dump the rtas event using the linux rtas tools. And even possibly debug the event to pinpoint the issue on the host lpar side.
