I am using Eclipse 3.3.0 and Derby version 10.3.1.4 trying to implement the LowFareAir project. Everything is fine up to the section "Starting the Derby network server and running ij". When I choose "Apache Derby > Start Derby Network Server" the console shows:
Security manager installed using the Basic server security policy.

Apache Derby Network Server - 10.3.1.4 - (561794) started and ready to accept connections on port 1527 at 2007-09-17 21:16:56.764 GMT
Any attempts to access the database yield:
java.security.AccessControlException access denied (java.util.PropertyPermission user.dir read)
I researched the Derby docs but I'm still not sure how to correct this. How do I set Derby security policy permissions for the LowFareAir project within Eclipse 3.3.0?

Re: java.security.AccessControlException2007-09-17T19:51:13Z in response to SystemAdminHi John -
please setup a security manager policy file and specify it on the startup command line (shown in the Server Guide) or start network server with the -noSecurityManager option.
