Pinned topic iseries for linux

‏2007-07-25T16:29:52Z |
Hello, I have installed iseries v1.4. When I try to run ibm5250 I get this error:
5250: ERROR : NSC0017: Xt Warning: Missing charsets in String to FontSet conversion.
5250: ERROR : NSC0017: Xt Warning: Cannot convert string "-b&h-lucidatypewriter-medium-r-normal-sans-24-175-*-*-m-120-iso8859-*" to type FontSet.

I am using Fedora Core 7. Thanks in advance.
Brad

Do you have Xorg or XFree?

Do you have locale en_US installed?

    to find out execute:

    1. locale -a | grep en_US

en_US locale is required, en_US.utf8 is not enough, en_US is required.

Other thing you can try is:

    1. xset fp rehash
    2. ibm5250

Sometimes paths to X fonts are somehow messed up and you must reloade them with that command before starting ibm5250.

If you still have problems please execute:

    1. /opt/ibm/iSeriesAccess/bin/cwbmedic

    And attach the file here.

    Regards,

Forgot to tell you. Xorg and yes en_US is installed. I did run into a problem when installing rpm. It ranted about libXm.so.3 missing. I installed openmotif-2.3.0-0.1.9.3 and made a symbolic link from libXm.so.4.0.0 --> libXm.so.3, but it still would not install. I then just forced the rpm to install with no deps. I do not know if this is the problem. Thanks for the responses.
