Pinned topic Another Problem with German Umlaute

‏2007-07-05T08:26:42Z |
Hello All!

We also have an unresolved problem regarding "german umlaute" and other country specific signs.

If we make a simple select like this:

"SELECT BVVVSP2599.V36.V360050 FROM BVVVSP2599.V36 WHERE V360050 = 'KÖLN'";

We get this error:

Warning: odbc_exec() http://function.odbc-exec:
SQL error: ?9.V36.V360050 FROM BVVVSP2599.V36 WHERE V360050 = 'K??·,
SQL state 00000 in SQLExecDirect in /var/www/user/tra/db2_umlaute.php on line 23

You can test it live here:
http://www13.euras.com/user/tra/db2_umlaute.php
All other sql statements works like a charme.

Our System:

Ubuntu 6.06 LTS Server
Apache 2.0.55
PHP 5.1.2
unixODBC 2.2.11
iSeries Driver 1.2 and 1.4 tested (iSeries running V5R3)

Locale environment:
LANG=de_DE.UTF-8
LANGUAGE=de_DE:de:en_GB:en
LC_CTYPE="de_DE.UTF-8"
LC_NUMERIC="de_DE.UTF-8"
LC_TIME="de_DE.UTF-8"
LC_COLLATE="de_DE.UTF-8"
LC_MONETARY="de_DE.UTF-8"
LC_MESSAGES="de_DE.UTF-8"
LC_PAPER="de_DE.UTF-8"
LC_NAME="de_DE.UTF-8"
LC_ADDRESS="de_DE.UTF-8"
LC_TELEPHONE="de_DE.UTF-8"
LC_MEASUREMENT="de_DE.UTF-8"
LC_IDENTIFICATION="de_DE.UTF-8"
LC_ALL=
I hope someone can give me a hint where to look at?

Regards,
Tobias
