Pinned topic pAVE & MySQL

‏2007-05-30T14:36:57Z |
Has any experienced a problem running MySQL in the X86World. We have an application that uses MySQL database backend talking over a socket. If we start MySQL without the skip-innodb option ( under a runx86 environment ) it crashes. Unfortunately, the application requires this option to work, so adding the skip-innodb option is not an option. MySQL runs fine in the PPC kernel; but the socket communication might pose a problem since the environment will be chrooted.

Thoughts and/or issues...

I tested MYSQL in the p AVE environment and found no issues. I did not use the skip-innodb option. I will run MYSQL with this option and let you know the results.

Interesting. We had to add this only in the x86 world. We have since determined that we can run MySQL under PPC kernel and have the x86 application communicate to it with no problems.

We were using MySQL v5 for this application.
