We are looking to use existing cobol/cics applications to run the business logic for a web application written in java. I have looked at the documentation and found that the most convient method, EPI, is not supported for CTG on Z/OS. The supported method is ECI. I'm not a cics programmer so some of the terms are new to me. I need to know the steps to call a cics transaction thru ctg using java with ECI. Some samples would be great.

Re: Using Java to call a CICS Transaction thru CTG on Z/OS2007-09-27T12:21:59Z in response to SystemAdminFirst make sure that TCPIPservice is installed on your cics transaction server and it has to be in the startup grouplist of the cics server.
make sure CPMI is the system mirror transaction has got access to your user id.The cics admin has to give you access RACF.
Once all these are done you should be able to run your java program.
