I want to adjust the cloudscape accompanying WebSphere Application Server v6.0 to support relatively bigger BLOB processing. I know that increasing the db2j.storage.pageCacheSize property value can accomplish this (referencing http://www-128.ibm.com/developerworks/db2/library/techarticle/dm-0408bradbury/#cs_OutOfMem).
I tried many approaches. Since db2j.storage.pageCacheSize is a system-wide (or say static) property, it must be set in the db2j.properties file or passed as a java argument. But WAS does not utilize the system properties. Trying to add it in the cview's System -> Properties tab will result in java.lang.ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException. I searched through the cloudscape folder (under the WAS6 installation directory) by text, and found that the only places where db2j.storage.pageCacheSize resides are inside some java classes.
Is it possible to change the db2j.storage.pageCacheSize property to impact the embedded cloudscape instance in the running WAS application server?

Add the property to the db2j.properties file in the cloudscape sub-folder of the Application Server directory. You will need to restart the server for the change to take effect.
