Pinned topic V7 installation/transition issues

Hello Testers,
Today IBM Rational announced the new IBM Rational Software Delivery Platform desktop products V7 (http://www.ibm.com/software/rational/announce/dt). This release includes a new version of Rational Manual Tester.

We are initiating this thread to be a home for issues relating to the new release. Items relating to installation and transition are most appropriate. If you have questions or answers, concerns, ideas, or relevant experience in moving forward with this release, please post your thoughts here.

    Batch Conversion for RMT v6.x to v7.0 Scripts

    We just converted to v7 of RMT (also have CQTM, RFT, and ReqPro in v7). Is there a batch conversion for RMT scripts? The help says to simply open up the old script in the new editor, but this is cumbersome. Thanks.

      Same concern with us. We've got over 1500 scripts (and growing). Batch conversion is almost a necessity for our teams. Perhaps there are some command line options for running RMT that would allow us to write a program to traverse folders on a PC and open/resave each file?

      We're in the process of migrating as well and have the same concern, with similar script volumes I've seen posted here (1500+). Anyone have any recent updates on this topic?

    java.lang.NullPointeException

    Problems occurred when creating editor or reading file.

    For further details check the .log file found in the .metadata directory of the workspace.

      I did an installation from a downloaded electronic image on a workstation for Windows XP 2002 SP2. - Successful installation no errors on opening.

      I did a second installation from an electronic image on a shared drive. The workstation was the computer mention above and the same files were used across the network to load. This was a Virtual Machine with Windows Sever 2003 SP1 - Successful installation, error on opening. This server also has loaded on it CQ, RP and CC, Version 7.0.0.1.

      Both were fresh install, not upgrades.

      Same error.

      I had this problem too.

      Here is a workaround that fixed it for me:
      1. Right-click on My Computer > Properties > Advanced tab > Performance Settings button > Data Execution Protection tab.
      I assume you have "Turn on DEP for all programs..." enabled.
      2. Add RMT to the list of DEP exceptions:
      Click Add... and navigate to rtmt.exe,
      typically installed at C:\Program Files\IBM\RMT70\rtmt.exe
      3. OK and close Properties
      (You should not need to reboot to add a DEP exception.)
      You should now be able to start RMT without trouble.

      A change request has been submitted for a permanent fix to RMT.

    Unable to dynamically adjust transparency settings with RMT 7.0.0. Have to restart RMT to get adjusted.
