Pinned topic PDF in BLOB?

‏2006-10-23T05:58:32Z |
Hi,

can I crawl "attachments", that are stored in a BLOB in db2? How? Do I just need to crawl the field and omnifind will detect the stored format (which might be PDF, DOC ...)?

regards,
Stephan

    Yes that is possible.
OmniFind considers all binary content (including BLOB, CLOB, VARCHAR FOR BINARY, etc..) as "document content"

When you configure your database crawler, once you have selected the table/view that you want to crawl, go into the "edit" screen for that table/view and in the "document content" section, select the column that you want. You can only select one "content" column per table/view.

You can specific the MIME type of the content. If you leave it blank, it will be automatically detected.

Hi, does the blob search also work for tables joined using relationship maps (Omnifind 9.1).
    Thanks for your response!..
