Re: Feedback to part 92007-03-19T13:01:25ZThis is the accepted answer. This is the accepted answer.hi all,
having myself implemented a drupal (v4.7) db2 interface file for the ibm db2 universal database server v8.2 prior to reading this article, i can say i adopted most of the same approaches to making it work but some other issues not mentioned here posed major hurdles. these include drupals use of double quotes as literal string delimiters in sql queries which isn't supported by db2, drupal's use of some database functions not found in db2, the need to use db2 prepared statements for those large blobs such as the drupal cache which don't fit nicely as literal strings in sql queries, and even more. i conclude that this cannot completely work without hacking into the drupal code, which is exactly what i ended up doing.
attached is my working implementation of the db abtraction layer for db2...hacked database.inc included. hope this helps someone.
