    To use CONTAINS function, Net Search Extender is needed. Net Search Extender is included in all editions at no aditional charge.

    You must first enable a database for net search.
    If you go into the control center, right click on the database and near the bottem you will see "Net Search Extender -> Enable Database for Text".
    Or from the command line you can run "db2text ENABLE DATABASE FOR TEXT CONNECT dbname";

    But while enabling "Net Search Extender", I met a error message like..

    CTE0296 Can't find "cteccadm" Library at "hostname". Verify installation for DB2 Net Search Extender.

    Which version of Net Search Extender have you installed (Net Search Extender will not be installed together with DB2). To get this information type:

    db2text level

    How about the syntax of CONTAINS ?

    I got this error: SQL0104N An unexpected token SQLSTATE=42601

    select * from table CONTAINS (FIELD, "input")=1

    I missing the WHERE
    should be : SELECT * from table where CONTAINS (F2, 'input')=1
    But got another error:
    SQL21000N A text search option is not installed or not properly configured.
    SQLSTATE=42724
