Pinned topic Software update...bookmarks.xml

‏2006-09-05T15:38:40Z |
WST Common UI (1.5.0.v200605221440-qKHiTHST7bZ4sKS) requires feature "org.eclipse.gef (3.2.0)", or equivalent.

Anyone run into this yet?

    Sometimes the Eclipse update sites don't have all of the necessary features available for download. Our (painful) solution is to keep trying different mirrors until we get one that succeeds.

    This problem happens more with Eclipse 3.1.x ... the Eclipse 3.2 release should take care of this problem and eliminates all but the Subclipse and PHP update sites from the given bookmark.xml .

      I found that if you select the Callisto Discovery Site when selecting update sites
      it will automatically cover the missing WTP 1.5 packages.

      I read that the WTP 1.5 was released on june 30 but seems to be only available through this Callisto release.

      Anyway... just an FYI....

    The bookmark file didn't work for me. I had to install XMLBuddy to create an XML file. Since I had previously installed phpEclipse my corrected file looked like:

    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="yes"?>
    <!DOCTYPE bookmarks>
    <bookmarks>
    <site name="Subclipse"
    url="http://subclipse.tigris.org/update_1.0.x"
    web="false"
    selected="true"
    local="false"/>
    <site name="Web Tools Platform (WTP) Updates"
    url="http://download.eclipse.org/webtools/updates"
    web="false"
    selected="true"
    local="false"/>
    </bookmarks>

    Here's a version with the missing phpEclipse entry

    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="yes"?>
    <!DOCTYPE bookmarks>
    <bookmarks>
    <site name="PHPEclipse"
    url="http://phpeclipse.sourceforge.net/update/cvs"
    web="false"
    selected="true"
    local="false"/>
    <site name="Subclipse"
    url="http://subclipse.tigris.org/update_1.0.x"
    web="false"
    selected="true"
    local="false"/>
    <site name="Web Tools Platform (WTP) Updates"
    url="http://download.eclipse.org/webtools/updates"
    web="false"
    selected="true"
    local="false"/>
    </bookmarks>

    And if you'd like to use XMLBuddy, here's the site:

    http://xmlbuddy.com/

    Also DeveloperWorks has a good article about XML in Eclipse:
