‏2006-08-28T13:58:41Z |
Hi every body.

It is possible to make use of the SUBSTR, within clause UPDATE?

Particularly I believe that it is not possible, somebody will know here if it is it?

It tries it, but it gives error me -104.

Thank's.

Fernando.

    If you want update SUBSTR(cola,4,3), how about this way?
    code
    UPDATE Table
    SET cola = SUBSTR(cola,1,3) || <new_data> || SUBSTR(cola,7)
    WHERE ...[/code]

    Just to make more clearer...
    SUBSTR clause cannot be used on left side of '= ' operator in SET statement...It can be used only with operand on right side.
