Pinned topic How to do a bulk insert in the encrypted table?

‏2006-08-28T13:11:29Z |
Hi...

I have created one encrypted DB2E database. I also have created one encrypted table in this database. Now I want to do a bulk insert in this "encrypted table".

I am aware of db2eclpu utility's "IMPORT FROM <input file> OF DEL INSERT INTO <tablename>" command. But this command does not have any options for providing userName and password to access the encrypted table.

Can anyone pls help me in finding out best way to do a bulk upload in a encrypted table from a deliminited file ?

Thanks and Regards,

Supal Patel

    Hi,

    If you want to import data to an encrypted table, you need connect to the database using your user/password firstly.
    Such as:
    connect to .\ user "xxx" using "xxx";
    import from <input file> of DEL INSERT into <encrypted tablename>;

    weijj.

      Hi

      Please advise?????
      We have an exsiting (non-encrypted) table with thousands of rows of data already in it.
      I have been tasked with encypting some of the columns in the table.
      How do i go about doing this???

      This is what i think, please add/edit correct.
      connect to db
      Export the data to a del or ixf file
      drop existing table
      re-create table with encrypted columns
      import data from del or ixf file into re-created encrypted table (will the load utility work as well)
      disconnect from db

      does importing into a encrypted table require specific 'import' command options???
