Pinned topic Content Manager (OnDemand32)

‏2005-12-20T16:22:30Z |
Hi,

Trying to use Access 2003 to automate OnDemand Content Manager using the ArsOle ActiveX control.

I've have successfuly used the control to login to the server and list folders. Using the example from the user guide i'm trying to search the active folder using SetFolderSearchFieldData.

Here is my example:

code
rc = ArsOle.SetFolderSearchFieldData(lbfieldlist, lbOprList, txtValue1.Value, txtValue2.Value)
If rc ARS_OLE_RC_SUCCESS Then
MsgBox "ERROR"
End
End If

[/code]

lbfieldlist has a value of 'POSTING_DATE'
lbOprList has a value of 'BETWEEN'
txtValue1.value and txtValue2.value have a value of '19/01/2005'

But I get a run time error 13 'Type mismatch'. I have changed the code slightly from the example given by IBM as i'm using VBA not VB:

Original code:
code
rc = ArsOle.SetFolderSearchFieldData (lbFieldList.List(lbFieldList.ListIndex),
lbOprList.ListIndex,
txtValue1.Value,
txtValue2.Value)
If rc ARS_OLE_RC_SUCCESS Then
MsgBox "ERROR"
End
End If

[/code]

I would rate myself a novice when it comes to programming, and i'm stumped. Does anyone know how to resolve this? Or has anyone used Access 2003 to automate OnDemand Content Manager. My goal is to create an interface using Access 2003 and VBA that users can use to shedule a list of activites that can download particular reports from the system in the early hours to free up peoples time.

Thanks in advance :o)

    Hi Peter
    We do quite a bit of this. Try looking at how you dimension the variables.
    Even if using VBA - do not Dimension the type for a variant.

    Example
    Dim rc as variant
    SHould be (in VBA)
    Dim rc
