I'm trying to use ActivePython to automate a web service call that uses https:// instead of http://. The code works fine when using http, but fails when using https. I'm using version ActivePython 2.4.1 Build 245 based on
Python 2.4.1. The error I get is:
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "GetLicense.py", line 4, in ?
print server.Login('firstname.lastname@example.org' 'brand4below' 'KENI')
File "C:\Python24\Lib\site-packages\SOAPpy\WSDL.py", line 99, in __getattr__
self.soapproxy.proxy = SOAPAddress(callinfo.location)
File "C:\Python24\Lib\site-packages\SOAPpy\Client.py", line 100, in __init__
raise AttributeError, \
AttributeError: SSL client not supported by this Python installation
Your article mentions that "you need SSL support compiled into Python. This is the default for Python 2.3+". I'm using 2.4.1 it it appears that SSL may not be the default. Any idead on what I can try?
