Pinned topic postemsg

‏2005-01-25T16:38:02Z |
If this question has already been asked then I apologize. We use the
postemsg command quite extensively mostly to get Mainframe abends into
Tivoli. When TEC is down for any reason, these alerts get lost. Is
there anyway to have postemsg alerts cached if the TEC is not available?

Thank you

Use the -f option to specify a config file. This file should be an EIF
compliant configuration file so you can use the BufEvtPath=pathname keyword
    to specify a cache file.

    Hi David,

How do you get your messages from the mainframe? Are you running postemsg on the mainframe itself, or are you passing messages down to another server which uses postemsg in a script to send the event to TEC?

    ... just curious ...

The report looks ok ... the format got messed up when I attached it to the
email.... I need to know what everything means on the document .... to me
it just looks like a bunch of numbers in some sort of grid, but there is no
explanation in the reference guide for the report....or any other Document
that I have found. Very puzzling.

    Thanks for your help,
    Gerry Brown
