I am having difficulty to publish my project in RAS v6. The following error message is returned.

com.ibm.etools.j2ee.commonarchivecore.exception.NoModuleFileException: A file does not exist for module element having uri: ipower.war
at com.ibm.etools.j2ee.commonarchivecore.impl.ModuleRefImpl.checkType(ModuleRefImpl.java:492)

The workspace I am using in RAS v6 was converted from the WSAD v5.1.2 workspace. I opened the workspace directly from RAS v6 and according to the migration doc, it should automatically did the conversion for me right?

I can't find much information regarding the error in net. Anyone hv any idea how to resolve this ?

Thanks.

Sorry, I can't be much help since I am having the same problem. I created a new server and during the "add projects" to server phase, the server just hangs (console is blank).

    Have you had any luck?

      I had the same issue;

I removed the enterprise project from the server, removed the application using admin console, restarted the server to ensure the project is completely gone with no trace in the log. Then I added the project again and it worked fine.

Offcourse I was confident there was no other issue with the application. Seems like somehow configuration got mixed up.

      Good luck!

        Questions:
        1. How did you remove the enterprise project from the server?
        2. How did you remove the application using the admin console?
        3. How did you add the project again?

        Thanks.

Uninstalled the application from the server using admin console and restarted the server to make sure it is uninstalled. Now I installed it again and I dont see the problem now.

Yes..I was also having the same problem..It is resolved by Uninstalling the module from the application server...(Go to admin console--remove it from here)

I had the same error and i did the following

          1)Start the server.
2)After the server starts open the admin console
3)GO to the Applications and uninstall the app.
          4)Save to the master
          5)Stop the server.
6)right click the server and choose add of remove projects and then remove the app from there
          7)Readd it there again.
8)start the server and it worked..

              Hi ,

              1. Check the EAR Project
              a. Open the application.xml, Click on Module Tab, Add the Dyanamic Web Project which you are using for invoking the application.
              2. Build the EAR
              3. It will work 100%c Fine.
              4. If not then check the EAR file of your project that wheather it has the Entry of your Dyanamic web Project i.e the WAR file.

This can happen if you start changing your build path.

                1. Using RAD, take a look at your build path. Right click on the project -> Build Path -> Configure Build Path
                2. Click on the Source tab. Take note of what is listed.
                3. Open up the file org.eclipse.wst.common.component
                4. Is there something listed in the component file that is not listed in the build path? Specifically, something you thought you had gotten rid of, or perhaps something that has a build error in it?

I was trying to debug a problem by manipulating the build path to not include the areas that didn't compile. It pulled them from the build path file, but not this second file. My Java directory showed no errors (because it wasn't in the build path), and my Enterprise Application showed no errors (because it took stuff from the Java project). But, when it tried to start, that's when it found the error, and BURIED it underneath not finding a WAR file -- which it couldn't find, because there were buried errors.

Note: The project having an error is key on this. If there's no error, or if the directory is completely empty, or even missing, it would probably still come up with no problems. And then, many days from now, you add something to that folder which you forgot all about.....and you get this.

I was having the same problem. I created a new project with the same name as I created in other system but with case difference (ex. Myproject as MyProject).

After deployment I was getting the same error. Later I found that old project is still present in wstemp folder under profiles. I deleted the project from there and redeployed the new one. It worked!!!
