Pinned topic Java1.4.2 License Problem

‏2004-11-01T19:16:08Z |
Hello. I'm trying to install the Java14_64.sdk and Java14_64.license on a aix5.1 64bit platform. Everytime I tried installing the packages, this error message comes up:

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Pre-installation Verification...
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Verifying selections...done
Verifying requisites...done
Results...

SUCCESSES

Filesets listed in this section passed pre-installation verification
and will be installed.

Selected Filesets

Java14_64.license 1.4.2.0 # Java SDK 64-bit License
Java14_64.sdk 1.4.2.0 # Java SDK 64-bit

<< End of Success Section >>

FILESET STATISTICS

2 Selected to be installed, of which:
2 Passed pre-installation verification
----
2 Total to be installed

LICENSE AGREEMENT FAILURES

The installation cannot proceed because the following filesets
require software license agreement files which could not be found
on the system or installation media:

Java14_64.license

I've tried any combination you can think of. I've tried installing through smitty, tried installing with installp on the command line, i've recreated the .toc file but to no avail. What makes this weirder I've installed the same exact packages on a aix5.2 platform without any problems. Unfortunately its the
aix5.1 platform we need it for and I'm at a loss at ideas to what could be going on. The machine is on the latest maintenance level(5100-007). Any help would be appreicated. Thanks.

    Hi,

Copy the Java14_64.sdk and Java14_64.license files into /usr/sys/inst.images and run the following:

    installp -Y -aX -d/usr/sys/inst.images Java14_64.sdk

This will successfuly install the SDK after displaying the licence. The -Y option is to accept the licence. You can copy the images to any other place you want but remember to change the -d option to point to the place were you copied.

    Hi,

While installing select only the Java14_64.sdk fileset to install.
    Do not include Java14_64.license.
While installing Java14_64.sdk , automatically it will pick up the license.

    Thanks / AIX Team

I believe you need to creates a .toc file for directory which has the fileset

    try this :

From the directory which contains the fileset to be installed make sure the license file is also there.

    1. inutoc .
2.smitty install (Dont forget to select both the software as well as the license).
    3.successfull installation.
    Thanks,
