under Unix/Linux I have a problem with a ClearCase version 4.2 installation.
Everything looks fine, starting views, checkout and checkin elements etc.
Also building in a View with gnu make works:
make clean -f orbservice.so.mk
/bin/rm -f orbservice.o
/bin/rm -f orbservice.ii
/bin/rm -f /mmc_do/bin/linux/release/liborbservice.so
/bin/rm -f orbservice.iMakeSuffix
/bin/rm -f .cmake.state
But clearmake will not find something:
clearmake clean -f orbservice.so.mk
clearmake: Error: Unable to start MVFS audit - No such file or
clearmake: Error: Unable to execute build script for "clean"
Does anybody knows what clearmake is missing?

At a guess, this is because you're removing the .cmake.state file. This is
a cache file used internally by clearmake, and asking it to remove its
database while running is pretty rude. Not to mention that it exists to
help clearmake run faster. If you really need to remove it you'll need to
do so outside of clearmake, or use non-auditing mode while cleaning.
