Pinned topic WSAD 5.0 and DynaValidatorForm string array

Update to message sent 5 hours ago (still doesn't show on the list)

It would seem that the problem I'm having is related to Websphere
Studio Application Developer 5.0. I say this because I've tried sample
applications and WSAD still fails. I used the Validator-example WAR
distributed with Struts 1.1 as well as the one at this link, which
I've tested on JBOSS/Eclipse : . So I know that it
works in other environments.

Perhaps some IBM Websphere folks could shed some light.

Here is the original post...

I am having problems configuring a String array for a multi-select
dropdown list in DynaValidatorForm definition in struts-config.xml. I
am using WSAD 5.0 with fixpatch 1 applied, Struts 1.1 (June 2003) on
Windows XP Pro.

It is based on the Validator WAR distributed with Struts 1.1.

The property in question is : multipleDropDownListField
Here is my definition:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<!DOCTYPE struts-config PUBLIC "-//Apache Software Foundation//DTD
Struts Configuration 1.1//EN"

<> "> . . .
<form-bean name="validationDemoFormBean"
<display-name>Validation Demo Form Bean</display-name>
<description>Validation Demo Form Bean</description>
<form-property name="textField" type="java.lang.String" />
<form-property name="shortField" type="java.lang.String" />
<form-property name="singleDropDownListField" type="java.lang.String"
…<form-property name="multipleDropDownListField"
type="java.lang.String[]" />
…<form-property name="dropDownMenuField" type="java.lang.String" />
<form-property name="fileSelectField" type="java.lang.String" />

WSAD 5.0 complains as follows when I want to make
multipleDropDownListField a String array :

"Invalid data for attribute "type" in part "multipleDropDownListField"
type form-property."

According to the DTD, it is allowed. I've tried using the size
parameter to set the size but without success.

I've checked the archive and found no suggestion. Any ideas ? Seems
this should be fine ...

Thx !
