Pinned topic Error running SELECT * FROM SYSIBM.SYSTABLESPACESTATS

‏2013-04-19T15:59:47Z |

I'm getting the following error when I execute a SQL script selecting all columns of sysibm.systablespacestats or sysindexspacestats.  I'm not seeing any negative sqlcodes on the z/OS subsystem.  I'm seeing all the SELECT 1 FROM SYSIBM.SYSDUMMY1 WHERE 0=1 statements successfully executing on the host.

Lastly, how do issues with Data Studio get turned in and worked.  Being a free product what is the support path?

select * from sysibm.systablespacestats

An internal error occurred during: "select * from sysibm.sysindexspacestats".
java.lang.NullPointerException

Thanks

    Hi,Efreid,

Could you give us following information and then we can diagnose the problems?

1.The Data Studio version you used.

    2.The DB2 version you used.

    3. The log files located at <workspace>/.metadata/.log*

    Thanks.

    Thanks.

Waiting for the next maintenance release would be acceptable.  I'm trying to get staff off of 3.1 but running into resistance.  They sure do like their 3.1 for some reason.

I have the exact same problem when doing

    SELECT * FROM SYSIBM.SYSTABLESPACESTATS

with IBM Data Studio Version 3.2

My workaround solution is to change the "SELECT *" to SELECT the specific columns I am interested in seeing.  This works for me

    > Remember, IBM Data Studio has smart insert -> once it knows the table you are working on then you can hit ctrl-shift and the context sensitive help  pops up a window with columns of that table... this makes it quick to pick the column names...

I assume there is some column type in SYSTABLESPACESTATS that IBM Data Studio has trouble displaying....

(and yes, I am anxiously awaiting the new version of IBM Data Studio - partly to see this minor bug fixed)
