Pinned topic How to perform GPFS SAN disk Migration

‏2013-06-19T07:46:03Z |

Hi All,

I will be migrating my GPFS cluster disks from one san to another.

Data will be copied from SAN level over san copy. I need a detailed steps that how i can bring the new disks to GPFS. (FYI, once the new disks are presented,  old disks will be removed).

Also, would like to know if any pre-checks are backup's of configuration needs to be taken.

Thank you!.

If all the diskss can be attached to the cluster, you can just use mmcrnsd/mmadddisk to add the new disks to the filesystem, then use mmdeldisk/mmdelnsd to delete the old ones. The mmdeldisk command will move all the data off the old disks to the new disks.

But, here we do a data copy over SAN, In this case what am i suppose to do?
