    Hi Ahmar,

As per logs currently you have one controller enclosure and one expansion.

Controller enclosure is having 12 450GB drives. Out of which drive 7 is hot spare and other 11 drives are configured in array "AlMunajem_Oracle1".

Expansion enclosure is having 5 450GB drive. As per logs this are also part of "AlMunajem_Oracle1".

Kindly confirm this is correct or not...??? Is there any other drives installed in this storage...??? Because from basic overview I am not able to see any other new drives in storage. Expansion enclosure is having enpty slots from slot 6 to slot 12.

Kindly find below current configuration as per logs.

       Number of arrays: 1

       Name:                          AlMunajem_Oracle1

As per this logs all drives are already configured in array.

    Dear Mangesh,

Thanks for the quick detailed response.

All you have mentioned is correct. But since these logs are older one and wanted to give an idea about our storage.

I am worried about the message which is being generated while adding the free capacity drive.

I shall get the latest logs by tomorrow morning which shall give you more info.

    thanks again

    Hi Ahmar,

Sorry for delayed response. I have reviewed logs. But I could not able to find any reason for this error. I am suspecting that it may be some GUI bug. If possible please try to install latest storage manager software on some other machine and check.

    Thanks.

    Hi Ahmar,

Yes. You got the correct thing. I think "Workaround 3:Reduce the segment size being used and then retry the operation." is suitable in your case. But I am not sure whether we can do this online or not.

Give me sometime, I will try to find it.

    Thanks.

    Mangesh Shirke.

    dear Mangesh,

Thanks for your responses. I have ordered additional memory for the controllers since we have little margin for hit and trial methods. This is production environment so will upgrade memory and retry if still fails then maybe new array and logical drive.

    thanks
