Pinned topic Enterprise Records JNDI Error (javax.naming.NameNotFoundException: Name Comp/env/jdbc not found in context "java")

‏2014-06-18T06:26:09Z |

Hello everyone.

I am facing the following while click IER reports.

Error Description:

The current report cannot be generated:

javax.naming.NameNotFoundException: Name Comp/env/jdbc not found in context "java"

To resolve this error, followed tech note:

http://www-01.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/SSNVVQ_5.1.2/com.ibm.p8.installingrm.doc/frmco011.dita

but error remains same.

I assign the jdbc name at IER plug-in and also created the data source at Websphere, but the following logs suggest that it is not connecting to data source.

System error logs:

----------------------------------

[6/18/14 11:37:07:387 IST] 000000e0 SystemErr     R CIWEB.IERApplicationPlugin Error: [p8admin @ fe80:0:0:0:3426:dfe:ccb:e982] com.ibm.ier.plugin.util.JDBCUtil.connectReportDataSource() Unable to connect to datasource

javax.naming.NameNotFoundException: Name comp/env/jdbc not found in context "java:".

--------------------------------------------

ICN Version: 2.02 Build id: 201404220615

IER 5.1.2 Build rec560.179

Please guide to resolve this error.

Thanks,
Kaushal

Please make sure that you use the same JNDI name in the setting of Reports for IER plug-in and the JNDI name of the report data source in WAS, for example jdbc/ReportDS.

Also check that the ICN data source and IER report data source are in the same scope in WAS.

      Thanks Yi-Jen-Lin,

Problem was resolved by writing JNDI name jdbc/ReportDS at Datasource.
