Pinned topic zookeeper as nameservice log4j errors

‏2013-11-04T18:07:58Z |

I have configured zookeeper to be the nameservice for my streams instance.  The streams instance seems to run fine, however, I get log4j errors when I run commands like "streamtool geturl":

log4j: WARN No appenders could be found for logger (org.apache.zookeeper.ZooKeepr).

log4j: WARN Please initialize the log4j system properly.

log4j: WARN See http://logging.apache.org./log4j/1.2/faq.html#noconfig for more info.

My question:

Is this something that needs to be fixed on Zookeeper, or on Streams configuration?

Thanks,

Brian

These are warning and do not indicate a problem.  Zookeeper uses log4j but the values are  set by it's own log4j properties file.  If you wish to activate Zookeeper logging refer to the zookeeper manual:

      http://zookeeper.apache.org/doc/r3.3.2/zookeeperAdmin.html#sc_logging

It says:  See the section on logging in this document. It is expected that you will setup a rolling file appender using the in-built log4j feature. The sample configuration file in the release tar's conf/log4j.properties provides an example of this.

This warning along with how to diable the appender check is  is talked about here:  http://logging.apache.org/log4j/1.2/manual.html#defaultInit
