Pinned topic AMM Connectivity problem after AMM firmware update

‏2013-10-22T13:46:17Z |

I have a BC H Chassis with AMM firmware level 3.54P.

Some problem occurred which is corrected in 3.62o.

The latest one is 3.64G

So I've updated AMM from 3.54P directly to 3.64G. But the firmware version has rolled back to the previous one. The issue is known. I should update firmware in two steps: from 3.54P to 3.54V and from 3.54V to the latest one.

The first step has completed successfully.

After updating an AMM firmware from version 3.54V to 3.64G I have come into connectivity trouble. The updated AMM's Web interface fails to respond. Ping requests are losing packets.

Having connected my laptop directly to AMM I have no problems accessing Web-Interface.

Has anybody faced the same issue?

Is it possible to downgrade AMM firmware to any previous version?

Check the port speed/duplex settings on the switch.  We have had to hard code our AMM ports to 100/full because they do not support gig and sometimes the auto negotiate doesn't work.  Outside of that, try reseating the AMM to see if it improves.  Connecting directly without issue seems to point to a network config issue.

You can flash the firmware to any version you want just using the pkt file.  There's no penalty for backreving a version down.  I wouldn't use anything in 62x and recommend waiting until the next drop of code mid-December.

    Thanks Josh.

The problem I'm finding is I can't find older firmware.

I am looking for AMM firmware BPET62C released 06/23/2011

I currently have build ID BPET64G released 07/17/2013

This blog post talks about having the same issues as we're experiencing:
    http://24by7365.wordpress.com/2012/08/14/ibm-bladecenter-aam-network-connectivity-and-firmware/

They stated same problem started after upgrading from 62C.

We have another BladeCenter currently running 62C and is not having these issues.
