Is it possible to create a custom keyboard shortcut in DOORS?

The idea is to quickly be able to run a user DXL script that needs to be run frequently on an ad-hoc basis, thereby avoiding having to switch hand from keyboard to mouse and navigate a module's addins menu structure.

I think someone figured out how to do exactly what you asked but I don't know.

However, you can assign an "alt" and a "cntl" keyboard shortcut to your addins menu.  So you would deploy the DXL in an addins menu assigned the "cntl" shortcut, and folks can ignore the menu and jump straight to the script.

See DXL manual chapter "The DXL Library and Addins menus".

Lines in the "*.idx" file menu has this form:

    • NameOfDxlFile _ _ Description as seen in Menu

That 2nd underscore can be replaced with your "cntl" shortcut.  So  the following will allow "cntrl-R" run the dxl:

    • NameOfDxlFile _ R Description as seen in Menu

Of course, this feature is supported. I do it in the same manner and it really works. But you have to store a text file in the same directory NameOfFolder.hlp.
