But   we have to use specific  attributes for setting up the clearquest  integration with LDAP Server.

Do you mean that you don't know what attributes you should use for those configuration commands? In this case, you need to have some understanding of LDAP in general (it's like a database anyway) and Ubuntu Open LDAP in particular. If you can show the DN of a particular LDAP account that you want to integrate and its details (including all attributes), you should have all the required parameters already. If you don't know what a DN is or how to view an LDAP record, you should get help from your LDAP administrator.

No matter which LDAP server you use, the steps to integrate with ClearQuest should be the same. You need to be very careful with the parameters with the installutil setldapsearch command as they are specific to the LDAP server of your choice.

Try to set it up and see what the result is.

If you plan on using LDAP with SSL, there is one item of note which you should check. Clearquest 8.0.x with SSL requires LDAP servers to be RFC 5746 compliant. You can run the command below on your ubuntu server to see a complete list of what is covered by your server.

ldapsearch -b "" -s base supportedFeatures supportedControl supportedExtension

    If you see

RFC 5746 in the result set, then ou are all set.
