Pinned topic rename cqweb folder

‏2014-01-31T10:54:02Z |

Hi,

In our enviornment CQ is accessible via ISA (proxy server)  and it is running fine from last few years but once i upgrade CQ to 8.0.0.08 i found the performance is degraded compare to 7.1.1. So i want to access my test envornemnt in the same way how the production is accessible but ISA admin unable to enable more than one link due "cqweb" folder which is the common for both production server web link and test server web link http://cqlive/cqweb and http://cqtest/cqweb . According to ISA admin if i can rename cqweb folder to cqweb1 or some name other than cqweb in CQ test then they can enable one more link for me to access CQ test link.

I don't known how it will impact or what all are the place i have to check for this change in CQ web server.

Before proceed i want to see some comments from CQ experts.

Regards

Arun

I can't imagine how you can improve the ClearQuest Web performance by adding a proxy. IIRC, the /cqweb context root is hard-coded somewhere in the ClearQuest Web, so if you change it, something may break.

I would ask your ISA admin once more why the two applications cannot be set up as is. It is hard to believe the proxy cannot distinguish the URL by the different host names, i.e. cqlive vs cqtest, and would look at the context /cqweb only.

No, I am not adding proxy to improve performance. The problem is here our CQ live web server is accessible via ISA proxy and it is very slow but the same CQ server when access by local link it is faster so to compare with CQ test server i want to use proxy to access the same way like live so that i will know where is the problem.

ISA Admin is created multiple links but they can only enable one link at a time not both live and test link becasue of "/cqweb"  ends with both the links.

So I still don't understand why it is a problem for ISA  with URLs ending with /cqweb. When ISA redirects the traffic, shouldn't it first look at the hostname(s), in you case cqlive and cqtest, first? The hostname only should be enough for ISA to tell which server should serve the request.

What do you mean by "test environment"? Is it a separate CQ server? Or you are talking about the "Test" Database associated with the Production Schema within the same Production server?

    1. If "test environment" is a separate CQ server then ->

Request your network admin to create two Alias names -

http://cqlive/cqweb should point to the IP address of your "cqlive" server (hostname is "cqlive")

    And

http://cqlive/cqtest should point to the IP address of your "cqtest" server (hostname is "cqtest")

    2. If you are talking about your "Test" Database then you can access "test" Database using URLs->
