Pinned topic APMUI And Trans Tracking Integration

‏2013-12-10T15:12:28Z |

Using the APMUI Beta Milestone 8, I have configured integration between the APMUI and the Transaction Reporter, following the steps in the doc.  When I run the run-rdf.sh script, it appears to run successfully - last message is RDF OK, but when I then go to the APMUI, I do not see any new Applications to be read from the SCR.  I also don't see any Transaction Tracking dashboard data.  And when I try to see what's in the SCR using this URL:  http://192.168.1.245:17310/SCRCLUSTER_SCR_oslc/oslc/rr/collection?oslc.pageSize=1000&oslc.paging=true, I only see a long listing of these:

<rdf:RDF><oslc:ResponseInfo rdf:about="http://192.168.1.245:17310/SCRCLUSTER_SCR_oslc/oslc/rr/collection?oslc.pageSize=1000&oslc.paging=true"><rr:currentTime>2013-12-10T00:20:24.017Z</rr:currentTime><rr:lastModifiedTime>2013-12-09T22:26:35.858Z</rr:lastModifiedTime><oslc:totalCount>110</oslc:totalCount></oslc:ResponseInfo><rdfs:Container rdf:about="http://192.168.1.245:17310/SCRCLUSTER_SCR_oslc/oslc/rr/collection"><rdfs:member rdf:resource="http://192.168.1.245:17310/SCRCLUSTER_SCR_oslc/oslc/resources/C-17"/><rdfs:member rdf:resource="http://192.168.1.245:17310/SCRCLUSTER_SCR_oslc/oslc/resources/C-63"/><rdfs:member rdf:resource="http://192.168.1.245:17310/SCRCLUSTER_SCR_oslc/oslc/resources/C-65"/><rdfs:member rdf:resource="http://192.168.1.245:17310/SCRCLUSTER_SCR_oslc/oslc/resources/C-55"/>

But nothing that looks like an application or a transaction.  Can you point me to what might be wrong?  I definitely have tracking data in my TEP, a list of Applications, Components, Servers and Transactions.  And I did upgrade my Tracking agents to 7.4.  Thanks.

    1. Check TT apps in SCR
Below query is used to check apps in SCR.
    http://<SCR_host>:<SCR_port>/SCRCLUSTER_SCR_oslc/oslc/rr/collection?oslc.where=rdf:type=<http://open-services.net/ns/crtv%23Application>&oslc.select=*&oslc.pageSize=1000&oslc.paging=true

TT apps in SCR always have MSN of TO agent like this, <itm:managedSystemName>v5254009400:TO</itm:managedSystemName>. If there are TT apps in SCR, but APM UI can not read them, need to check SCR connection in APM UI side.
     a. Log on into the host on which APM UI is running.
     b. Go to <APMUI_home>/usr/servers/apmui/apps/customCfg directory
     c. Run command "./connManager.sh -apm -o <apmui_port> -u <apmui_user> -p <apmui_password> -l". The output would include SCR connection information.

    2. If can not find any TT application in the SCR,  please check todata.rdf in TT side.
     a. Log on into the host on which TO agent is running.
     b. Go to <ITM_home>/<arch>/to/bin directory.
     c. Edit run-rdf.sh, update line DEBUG_OPTIONS= to DEBUG_OPTIONS="-DOUTPUT_RDF_FILE=${WORKDIR}". This would dump TO data into a rdf file.
     d. Remove lastPersist.properties.
     e. Run run-rdf.sh.
     f. Check <ITM_home>/<arch>/to/bin/todata.rdf. It should have TT apps. If there is no TT apps in SCR, need to check Transaction AMCE settings.

    3. Tracking agents at 7.4 should work, but it's better to upgrade to 7.4 IF1.

Thanks for the reply.  I have followed your steps with the folowing results - still no TO Apps in the SCR or the APMUI.

    1.  Checked the SCR per your URL and got no entries with TO.  I only see the App I created, and the App read from the AMC dashboard I assume, but nothing that looks like you sugested.

I also checked the connection to the SCR with these reuslts, which look OK to me:

    [root@rhel6 customCfg]# ./connManager.sh -apm -o 8080 -u apmadmin -p surplu9s -l
UID                              Type     Host or IP Address               Port
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    SCR_UID                          SCR      localhost                        17310

    2.  I am attaching my todata.rdf, which does look like it has TO App definitions, transactions, etc.

I reran the run-rdf.sh after making the debug changes, here's the result:

    sysitmsles:/opt/itm/lx8263/to/bin # ./run-rdf.sh
    Connection to SCR server: PASSED.
    Metadata file: /opt/itm/lx8263/to/bin/todata/topology/MetaData.xml

    Hi,

I'm also facing the same issue. Please provide your inputs on this.

    Appreciate your help.

    Thanks in advance

Re: APMUI And Trans Tracking Integration

    ‏2015-07-31T04:18:40Z

    Was any resolution determined?

We also appear to be experiencing the same issue.  We have tried to separate environments.  When running the debug and looking at todata.rdf we can see the TO agent data in there.

We never see it in the APMUI to add it though.
