Can someone explain the difference between integrated real-time compression vs the real-time compression appliance ?

Thank-you.

The Integrated real time compression is for SVC and storwize Family BLOCK storage. That is iSCSI, FC or FCOE attached.

The appliance is for File protocols. That is NFS and CIFS.

The Storwize Unified is a bit of a hybrid though, as it does compression both on block and on the filer part.
