Pinned topic Demo i and z Series boxes

‏2014-01-18T20:02:18Z |

Hello,

I am preparing for a client demo at a client site.  We will not have access to the internal IBM network.  I need a test iSeries box to demo the product.  Previously I used "iseries.demos.ibm.com" but that no longer seems to work.  Is there a more recent server?  Is that also one for zSeries?

Thank you very much.

    Hi Erasmus,

The iseriesd server works fine, I'm using it now.  A few years back they switched to require the use of SSL on port 992.  Without that you won't get a connection.  You can read the instructions at the bottom of the iseriesd page here, http://iseriesd.demos.ibm.com/.

    Thanks
    Tim

    Thank you very much!

Just curious, is there still a zSeries sample host?

    Tim,

Just a quick clarification on your answer.  There were two steps, a) I needed to use port 992 and b) I needed to download an apply the P12 certificate and add it to my project.

After saving the project, the sessons connects fine.

Thank you again for pointing me in the right direct.

    P.S.

The ID/PW mentioned in the link is incorrect.  I used the old ones (atdemo/demo4you)
