Pinned topic IBM Data Studio

 I Download the IBM Data Studio free version. After I configure with my iSeries it works find but when I run a SQL the result is comes in different characters. Also is there any documentation, how to use the product.

    Sounds like your column CCSIDs are probably set to 65535.  I'd suggest creating a new connection and specify an optional connection property of translate binary set to true.

    Use the Optional Properties tab from the New Connection window shown in Figure 1 of this article:

    Thanks for the reply.

    Figure 1 doesn't shoe the Optional property.  It used the "IBM data Server JDBC driver" and that need to be purchases, I am using AS/400 Toolbox for java default driver.

    I could not able to find the binary option.

    Please help.

    Correct, the translate binary property is not listed.  You have to add that on the Optional tab that your screen shot shows.  Property name is translate binary and value would be true
