Pinned topic CSV report output

‏2013-07-03T19:48:34Z |

Hi

I have a report which has 305 columns placed in a list.

We need the CSV version of the report output. The output is coming but the process to load everything in CSV is very slow.

Can we increase or optimize the report output generation in CSV format.

Please let me know.

Thanks

Ankit

"...the process to load everything in CSV is very slow..." - compared to what?

If you are comparing it to HTML output, the HTML page renders when the first 55 rows of data are ready, but the entire result set must be produced in order to populate the CSV file. It should be very close to the time needed to build an Excel file - have you timed that option?

      Hi Opher

HTML output is not a problem, when we are generating the same output in CSV, its taking a long time to generate.

Excel it says columns cannot be exceeded beyond 255, while the report has 305 columns.

For CSV output, the average time taken is approx 1.5 hrs, we need to bring it down to 15-20 mins.

      Thanks

Maybe I didn't make myself clear in the earlier response:

"...the HTML page renders when the first 55 rows of data are ready, but the entire result set must be produced in order to populate the CSV file."
