Pinned topic Latin characters in egl cobol iseries

‏2013-06-05T21:10:17Z |

Hello again.

Another trouble we have is that is not able to recognize the latin characters.

Neither when the user fill a form field nor, when some text have to been shown on the screen

It depends of the run time config system or the compiled egl-cobol?

What is your definition of latin characters?     specifically which language are you trying to allow the user's to type in on and be shown on the screen.

There is a LANGID parm in the CRTCBLPGM command that is used to build the application.

I have also had to modify my PCOMM (personal communications) when used as my 5250 emulator to allow/display the correct characters in the screen.   You should check this as well.   I think this may be your issue.  For character fields, EGL does not really do any processing on it..we just take the data and display it or receive it into the variables.

Finally, is this a migration from VAGen or CSP?  If so, then make sure you are using the migrated generation options so you ensure you are genning with the same options as you used to use.
