Pinned topic PowerVP can't "make" in RHEL 7

‏2014-08-12T08:57:17Z |

Hi all,

I was trying to install PowerVP agents today on a POWER8 Machine with RHEL7. Since there's no agent for RHEL7 I used the instructions to compile it, that is:

 - Go into the /opt/ibm/powervp/driver-source

 - run "make"

However, after a few lines, the script crashes with the following error message:

+ install -m 755 /opt/ibm/powervp/driver-source/rpmbuild/BUILD/powervp.ko /opt/ibm/powervp/driver-source/rpmbuild/BUILDROOT/powervp-driver-3.10.0-123.el7.ppc64/opt/ibm/powervp/powervp.ko

install: cannot stat '/opt/ibm/powervp/driver-source/rpmbuild/BUILD/powervp.ko': No such file or directory
error: Bad exit status from /var/tmp/rpm-tmp.EObJIA (%install)

RPM build errors:
Bad exit status from /var/tmp/rpm-tmp.EObJIA (%install)
make: *** [module-rpm] Error 1

It seems like the "install" command in the first line fails to place powervp.ko into the correct folder, and the following instruction crashes because it can't find it.

Do you have any solution?

Thanks.
