Pinned topic number of CPUs on AIX nmon report!

‏2013-07-12T17:38:14Z |

Hi

I've allocated 1 physical processor (core) to AIX LPAR. But when i generate nmon report using nmon analyser, it is showing as 2 CPUs.

CPU_SUMM tab
PCPU_ALL
PCPU01
PCPU02
CPU_ALL
CPU_01
CPU_02

when i ran lparstat -i
desired or entitled capacity is only 1

but why nmon report is showing as 2 CPUs

please explain.

ASR

    2 cores

i've allocated only 1 physical processor (core) not 2 cores. And please see the lparstat o/p

(am pretty sure that i've allocated only 1 core)

    lparstat -i
    Type     : Shared-SMT

    Mode             : Capped
Entitled Capacity                           : 1.00  (1 physical core or CPU)
    Desired Capacity                            : 1.00
    Online Virtual CPUs                        : 5

    we are using SMT,

we've 5 virtual CPUs, then there should be 10 logical CPUs (SMT =2) right ? (*each virtual CPU  has--> 2 logical CPUs)

but i see only 2 CPUs on this nmon report.  Please explain.
